Dubious drugs

It was a scam waiting to be exposed. On Monday, a senior divisional medical officer (DMO) blew the whistle on supply of fake drugs to Danapur Railway Hospital. The expose could be just the tip of the ice-berg, for medical practitioners have since long suspected a fake drug racket in major government hospitals.

Police have not ruled out such a possibility. “The extent of the scam will be revealed only after all the culprits are netted,” Khagaul police station inspector O N Sharma said. Police suspect the connivance of medics in the scam.
