Bryntsalov Is Let Off With a Fine


A Moscow court ruled late Wednesday that pharmaceuticals firm Bryntsalov-A must pay a 40,000 ruble ($1,500) fine for improper storage of drugs at its facilities, among other violations.

The decision was widely viewed as a slap on the wrist for a company that has been accused by Western drug makers of producing counterfeit drugs.

The timing of the ruling raised eyebrows, coming just an hour after U.S. President George W. Bush bade farewell to President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
