Hologram labels edge out counterfeit drugs
BEIRUT: The Lebanese Pharmaceutical Importers Association (LIPA) has a new weapon in the fight against counterfeiters, and a new way of assuring consumers of the authenticity and safety of their medication. Those who have made a trip to the pharmacy in the past few months may have already noticed the new LIPA "hologram" sticker on the back of various medication boxes.
"It is our best way to target counterfeit and illegal drugs, as we guarantee that the medication came directly from the producer," said Armand Pharis, LIPA president.
