Today, Americans can largely protect themselves and their families from dangerous counterfeit medicines by avoiding fake online pharmacies. (The World Health Organization estimates that half of all medicines sold over the internet from sites that conceal their physical address are fake.  Meanwhile only 1% of the U.S. medicine supply is estimated counterfeit.) But there’s talk in Congress of drug importation legislation that could inadvertently threaten the safety of our closed, protected medicine supply chain.
