India Patient Safety and Drug Detection Technology Workshop – September 10-11, 2012

On September 10th, 2012, the India Office of the Partnership for Safe Medicines is organizing a Patient Safety and Drug Detection Technology Workshop in New Delhi, India.  Working with the Government of India, the workshop builds upon a September 2011 APEC Drug Safety and Detection Technology seminar held in Beijing.  

The workshop’s objectives are to:

  • Share information on the appropriate use of detection and prevention technologies for drug safety and quality;
  • Update publications and guidance documents developed as a result of the September 2011 Beijing APEC workshop on the use of detection technologies to make spurious medicines easier to detect and to reduce their presence; and
  • Discuss future global cooperation related to the use of detection technologies to promote drug safety.       

Attendance is limited to 200.  Regulators, custom officials, law enforcement agencies, pharmacopeia officials, industry representatives, consumer organizations and detection technology vendors are encouraged to attend.  Also in attendance will be Indian government officials, and representatives from Indian industry.
