Medical Device King Exec Takes a Plea Deal Instead of a Retrial; Gets 32 Months in Prison

New York-based Pharmalogical, Inc. (d/b/a Medical Device King and Taranis Medical Corp.) grossed $17 million by misleading U.S. medical practices into believing they were buying FDA-approved products rather than “unapproved products imported through a series of unidentified middlemen in Turkey and elsewhere.” President William Scully, was convicted of these activities in 2015, but the conviction was vacated in 2017. In 2018, he pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.

New York District Attorney Indicts Major Online Drug Fake Xanax and Illicit Drug Seller

The office of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. announced the largest counterfeit pill seizure in New Jersey history this month. In addition to large quantities of other illicit drugs, between 420,000 and 620,000 counterfeit Xanax were discovered during the arrest and search of Chester Anderson, Jarrette Codd, and Ronald MacCarty for their alleged role in selling $2.3 million worth of illicit drugs via the internet.

First Three Members Of Elmira, New York Counterfeit Fentanyl Pill Ring Sentenced

The U.S. Department of Justice announced prison sentences for three members of a large-scale counterfeit fentanyl pill manufacturing and distribution ring based in Elmira, New York. The ringleader, Robert Ian Thatcher, received a 23-year prison sentence. Edward Barrett and Dusty Pemberton, both street level dealers, will spend seven and one-half and five and one-half years in prison respectively…

New York Man Charged With Selling Counterfeit Pills Made With Fentanyl

A newly formed task for on Long Island made their first arrest of a man who allegedly ran a drug ring that sold counterfeit oxycodone pills made with fentanyl. Between May and July, 2018, Ismail Latif sold a confidential source over 1,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills. The deals were made at one of several houses, one time inside a CVS pharmacy, and another time at a Mobile gas station…
