Out-of-state outlets selling drugs in La. face new rules — Critics say move hurts patients, helps retailers

BATON ROUGE — Some Louisiana residents who buy their prescription drugs by mail or over the phone from out-of-state outlets were temporarily denied their medicines in January by a new state licensing requirement that critics say is designed to protect local retailers.
