Case overview: USA v Adam Brosius, Patrick Boyd and Charles Boyd (2024 – 2026)

Adam Brosius and Charles and Patrick Boyd were proprietors of Safe Chain Solutions, a Maryland drug wholesaler that sold distributed misbranded and adulterated drugs and trafficked medicine products with false documentation. The men have been sentenced to a combined 46 years in prison.

Case overview: Novartis AG and Genentech v SHARx and Campbell Heights Pharmacy (2026 — ) – ongoing

Novartis and Genentech have filed a Lanham Act complaint against an alternative funding program and a Canadian pharmacy allegedly supplying Canadian Xolair to Michigan patients.

Case overview, Gilead Sciences v Meritain Health, et al (2024 — ) – ongoing

Gilead Sciences filed a Lanham Act complaint against a group of companies that allegedly pushed patients into ordering non-FDA approved international medicines to lower costs in employer-sponsored health insurance plans.

Case overview, USA v Capsulcn International Co Ltd et al (2025 — ) – ongoing

In May 2025, the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas unsealed an indictment against a CapsulCN International and three Chinese nationals for their alleged role in the illegal importation of pill-making equipment.

Case overview, Gilead Sciences v Heal the World et al (2025 — ) – ongoing

Gilead Sciences has filed a civil complaint against a Queens, New York-based pharmacy that allegedly sold counterfeit HIV medicine.

Case overview, USA v Xiaofei Chen (2024-2025) – closed

Xaiofei "Sophie" Chen pleaded guilty to illegally importing a pill press and a counterfeit pill mold in April 2025. The Chinese national worked for CapsulCN, which is under indictment for pill press trafficking.
