Kenya: New Agency to Control Sale of Fake Drugs


An agency to tackle counterfeit drugs and quacks is to be formed by the Government. Members will come from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, the National Quality Laboratory and the Inspectorate of Medicines and Pharmacies.

The agency would be similar to those in Tanzania and Uganda, the director of Medical Services, Dr James Nyikal, said yesterday.
