Owner of Rogue Pharmacy Network Arrested for Employing Hackers

Pavel Vrublevsky, co-owner of Rx-Promotion, a rogue online pharmacy affiliate network, as well as ChronoPay, the largest online payment processor in Russia, has been arrested by Russian authorities for allegedly hiring a hacker to attack a rival payment processing company.

Russian state news, Vesti, reports that Vrublevsky allegedly hired a hacker who debilitated the current payment processor for Aeroflot, a Russian airline, with a denial of service attack in order to convince Aeroflot to move the business to ChronoPay.

The Financial Times reports that Vrublevsky was ordered held without bail and a hearing set for end of July, after his arrest by the Russian Federal Security Service.

Reports the Financial Times, US officials blame Russian companies for hacking and computer fraud problems infecting companies around the world.
