PSM co-signs a letter supporting an FDA mandate to destroy dangerous imports
The Partnership for Safe Medicines cosigned a September 4, 2025 letter to the leaders of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce urging them to support a U.S. Food and Drug Administration proposal (pdf download) that would require the destruction of imported, non-compliant products that pose a significant risk to public health. The change would offer a more efficient way to protect Americans from rogue manufacturers that often reship dangerous products into the U.S. once they have been rejected at the border.
PSM's fellow signatories were Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies, The International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition, National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, National Association of State Controlled Substances Authorities, and the National Consumers League.
