Libby Baney of ASOP to Speak On Drug Counterfeiting and Sales Panel

Libby Baney, J.D., B&D Consulting Vice President and advisor to the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP), will participate in the Combating Drug Counterfeiting and Sales Panel at the 2011 Partnership for Safe Medicines Interchange on October 27, at the National Press Club.

ASOP represents a broad coalition of stakeholders who work together to protect patient safety and ensure patient access to safe and legitimate online pharmacies.  The coalition’s diverse membership includes the American Pharmacists Association, European Alliance for Access to Safe Medicines, Eli Lilly and Company, LegitScript, Merck, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, NeedyMeds, and the Partnership at Drugfree.org.  ASOP also benefits from the interest of non-member “observers” including the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, the National Health Council, the Partnership for Safe Medicines, and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

Libby helped organize ASOP in 2009. She leads the Alliance’s federal affairs efforts on the Hill and with the Executive Branch, works with other stakeholders, and manages operations.  In addition to her work with ASOP, Libby provides legal and public policy support to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, patient advocacy organizations, and trade associations on a range of health and life science issues.
